Candles #2: Don't need a smile to light

Trolling, laying, trolling in bed in the half-light, I realized that my list of favorite movies on some sidebar "application" on facebook was, surprising to me, rather accurate despite missing a few here and there. Then, after I added a new favorite to the end to make it an "even" 15, I thought I'd share it here. But rather than just some list, how about some pictures? Images celebrate better than words. --RWK

Encounter #91
What Community? #39
Mel met Cary, told Johnny.

Back when late nite interviews still had some pizzazz. And, when Mel was more like Robin Williams than the Cheshire Cat brought down to the ground and stripped of his color thanks to a life replete with corned beef on rye with mustard. (Not to mention booze and girls and limelights.) Worth noting: I probably would have acted the same way meeting Cary Grant, except I would have told a worse version of the story. Guess that's why I'm a part of the blogosphere and not Hollywood. --RWK [via Virgil P]

Cary Grant, Archie Leach, idol, symbol, wild and crazy guy.

badass, too

Everyone wants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant. I have spent the greater part of my life fluctuating between Archie Leach and Cary Grant, unsure of each, suspecting each, pretending to be someone I wanted to be, and, finally, I became that person. Or he became me.
