What Community? #85: Masks keep shrinking

I got some advice from my friend Justin: he said, in much more elaborate terms, to go ahead and join twitter. He made such a good (persistent) argument that I followed suit. You can "follow" me, if you like, by clicking right here. I'm wary as all get out, of course, but branding is what it is: a tool. Just like this "Something like a CV" post I threw up semi-covertly. Oh, and, I'm still waiting for my page to look like I want it to look. So, you know, be patient with me. Jacque and his mask will soon enough be something of a patron mascot. Finally, I've added the widget over on the sidebar for those skeptical, smart few who just don't want to play this new 2.0 game. --RWK

Genius Marketing #51: Sita sings online

After much copyright deliberation (headaches), Nina Paley has announced that her film, Sita Sings the Blues, will air for public consumption: first, you can stream the entire film at Reel13 (now), and then, second, it will be available in a variety of qualities "free to copy and share" after it airs March 7th at 1045pm as part of Reel 13 on WNET TV. Once I'm done with a few projects, I definitely plan on watching the film and, if moved, writing about its flash fun. --RWK [via sean]

Genius Marketing #50: Gallo in a Coppola (not sexual)

tetro!
FFC has a new movie and that new movie has a new website. CLICK HERE! to see a vlog by FFC himself in his Napa Valley home rapping about the project in a few too-close close-ups and dropping bombs like "Gallo's mad brilliant, son." Or something. I wanna see this thing. It's also got that lady who played sex with Gael and Diego in that Alfonso Cuaron movie. --RWK

What Community? #47: The Google Reader

not mine
I realize I'm slow to catch on, but, well, this thing really is pretty cool. I've gone ahead and attached a widget to our sidebar, too, so I can promote things I dig. The picture above is from a quick search for reader. A lot of people seem to take stills of their readers... I do not plan on it. I plan on reading it. One of the coolest things so far is catching up with posts I missed over the past while of not being religious about this blogosphere. Not that I'm trying to dive back in and spend all too much time online again, but, well, it's kinda fun. If you care, which I doubt, you can read my selected, shared items here instead of scrolling down. --RWK
